- Do you find yourself waking up in the morning really stiff and while you shuffle your way to the bathroom, you feel 100 years old and you’re only 40 (50 or 60)?
- Your golf swing is getting a bit worse with each game?
- Your runner’s high is crippled by how much pain your IT Band is causing?
- You wear your shoulders as earring accessories?
- Always feeling like you have to adjust your neck and shoulders?
4-6 weekly massages can change all that!
What I do:
My style of massage is a combination of Myofascial Release, Neuro-muscular Therapy, Trigger Point Therapy, Graston Therapy and Cupping. These combined techniques release the underlying causes of your pain and discomfort.
- What is Medical/ Deep Tissue Massage Therapy?
Medical/ Deep Tissue Massage Therapy is a healing art form all to itself. Commonly referred to as “sneaky deep tissue”, it combines advanced training in anatomy, physiology and technique. It is not normal to be in constant pain during massage. I cringe when I hear clients tell me about the deep tissue massage they got that made them sick or have a headache later in the day. Making your body ill is not therapy, it’s a lack of training.
In a properly given medical/deep tissue massage, you will feel nothing more than a “good workout” soreness the next day. This is not about maximizing your pain threshold; this about restoring circulation to congested areas so the body can heal itself. You will experience periods of discomfort during the massage as I work out the kinks, however you will be able to breathe. Deep breathing also helps to calm and reset the nervous system
The interesting thing about pain is that your brain can usually only register two (2) painful areas at once. Other areas are either diffused or ignored. This protection mechanism is why you are shocked at how many areas of your body are experiencing pain when I begin to massage your muscles/fascia. During your massage, you will notice my focus may be different than your original complaint. This is because the massage techniques will reveal the true cause(s) of your pain.
